Summer League FAQ

When and where is Westchester Summer League played?

All WSL games are played on the Main, PAC, or Great Lawn Fields at SUNY Purchase in Westchester County, NY. Field assignments are indicated in the league schedule and will be communicated by captains before games. Draft League is held on Monday and Wednesday evenings. Rec League is held on Thursday evenings. All games start at 6:30 p.m. Field maps can be found here.

What do I need to register? How much does WSL cost?

The fees for the various WSL leagues are:

» Coed Draft Division: $130

» Open Draft Division: $130

» Rec Division: $90

» Coed Draft & Rec Divisions: $185

» Open Draft & Rec Divisions: $185

TO PARTICIPATE IN WUDI SUMMER LEAGUE YOU WILL NEED TO BE A CURRENT (paid up and waivered for 2021) USAU MEMBER OR USAU / DISCNY AFFILIATE MEMBER

You will need your USAU ID # at the time of registration.

WUDi is partnered with DiscNY as a USAU affiliate organization.

What does this mean for you??

This means that instead of paying for a full annual membership, and instead of paying a one-time event fee for every league you play in, you can pay one AFFILIATE MEMBERSHIP fee right now, and you will be covered for all WUDi AND DiscNY events in 2021! The cost is only $16.50 and will cover you for Summer League, Indoor League, and any WUDi hat tournaments or DiscNY events you choose to play in this year. Simply select the "Affiliate 1 Year" option when renewing your membership on the USAU website. WUDi will no longer be collecting one-time event fees.

TO BE A CURRENT USAU member this means you have the following:

a) A USAU membership number
b) Paid your dues for 2021 (memberships reset Jan. 1)
c) Signed your waiver for 2021 (waivers reset Jan. 1)

Can I play both Coed Draft and Open Draft during WSL this summer?

No, all Draft League games are at the same time on the same days. If you choose either Coed or Open you are still welcome to sign up for Rec League on Thursday nights.

When does WSL begin and end?

Coed/Open Draft League games start: May 24

Rec League games start: May 20

Coed/Open Draft League Championships: August 11

Rec League Championships: August 12

How do I get on a WSL team?

Anyone interested in participating in WSL must register for at least one of the three leagues. Once you are registered, you will be drafted onto a team and then contacted by your captain.

How do I register for WSL?

WSL registration is all done online. You will be required to pay your registration fee, using PayPal, during the registration process. Registration will not be complete until payment is received. The information collected during the registration process is used by captains when teams are drafted. We highly recommend creating a WUDI account or ensuring your current WUDI account information is up to date before registration opens to save time during the process.

What is Earlybird Status?

Having Earlybird Status gives you an early shot at registering for WSL. Players can earn early bird for various lengths of time by captaining a team, serving on the board or as an advisor, or volunteering to help in other ways such as running a clinic, organizing a hat tournament, etc. Earlybirds are determined by the sitting WUDI board.

Do I have to be a certain age to participate in WSL?

Yes. All WUDI players must be 18 or older by the start of the season in which they’re playing. For information about youth leagues and other playing opportunities for those under 18, please reach out to our youth coordinator, Joan Foley.

How do I get to WSL?

It is easiest to get to SUNY Purchase by driving. The closest Metro-North station is in White Plains, which is about a 10-minute drive from the Purchase campus.
